Discord Awaiting Endpoint is a common problem that occurs rarely, but it can happen anytime. Discord engineers continually working behind the scenes to ensure a stable connection between registered users and servers. However, Discord Awaiting Endpoint doesn’t have to be an internal problem, but we have to look out for multiple issues here because the official solution might not solve yours.
What is Discord Awaiting Endpoint?
Discord Awaiting Endpoint is directly related to the network problem. The American gaming communication engineers stated that it is a problem that occurs when the Discord server is not responding to your request to log in.
I have been using Discord for almost 1.5 years now and encountered several problems, and that makes the right individual provide a solution. The error might be related to the server, not responding, and you can start working on fixing the problem by trying multiple solutions.
1. Check Server Status
Always check the server status before implementing solutions because I had encountered a server problem before, and they were related to the internal Discord system. In short, we cannot do much about it, until or unless authorized engineers fix it.
- Go to Discord Server Status website.
- Check the current waves.
- Scroll down a little, and you can find identified problems. The authorities will address them immediately and also provide further information.
I always waited for the problems to be fixed, but Discord could not find latency issues and higher ping issues in the Indian server. They have to address the matter, and it isn’t detected in the logs yet, so that explains plenty of things.
2. Change Server Location
Discord is having a difficult time maintaining the server health, and I don’t know the reasons for it. I had a problem with the Indian server, and I was forced to switch to Singapore because the ping was not good enough. I encourage the registered users to put some time testing the servers as the management is having difficulties in maintaining it. You have to be an administrator to change the server, and that’s the requirement for the process.
- Open Discord.
- Click on the server name located at the top left corner.
- The drop-down menu shows up on the screen and then clicks on “Server Settings” to continue.
- Click on change under the “Server Region.”
- Select one server nearest to your location, and in my case, Singapore is the closest.
Restart Discord for the program to reset and ask the connected people in the Voice Channel to disconnect and reconnect to adjust the ping. Overall, you can change the server multiple times and keep on testing to find an ideal server. However, you have to keep in mind that it will impact the Voice Channel performance for other users in your server.
3. Log out of Discord Account
I have never logged out of my account, which can cause a lot of software-related problems. You should log out of the report when you are having connection issues related because it will also expose application issues. You can always sign-in from the browser to check the problem and confirm whether it is related to the smartphone app or Windows or macOS or Linux program.
- Open Discord.
- Click on the gear icon located at the bottom of the screen, and a new window will show up.
- Scroll down to the bottom and then click on “Log out” to complete the process.
- Go to the Discord official page and login from the browser to confirm the problem.
You should be able to solve the problem by accessing the Discord account via browser. Make sure to remain in voice channel about 10 minutes and then double-check, if the problem persists. Assuming that you did not encounter such an error yet, then this is something related to your application.
4. Reinstall Discord
Discord offers a wide range of application support from Windows to Linux and iPhone to Android. Currently, I am using Android, iOS, and Windows version, and leaving the other two behind. The software package is prone to file corruption and system file error. There are plenty of contributing reasons behind it, and the most common factor is virus and malware interruption. Uninstall the communication program from your machine and then reinstall a new version.
- Go to Control Panel by pressing Windows Key + S and then type “Control Panel“ to continue.
- Click on uninstall to continue.
- Find Discord from the list, and click to select the program, and click on the “Uninstall” button located at the top of the tab.
Follow the traditional uninstallation process and then reboot your computer to remove the rest of the junk. Download a fresh copy of executable setup from the official website, and then install a new copy of Discord. You might encounter similar problems on a smartphone app as well, and you can always reinstall it to get rid of software-related errors.
5. Security Programs
Nowadays, Discord can be found on a wide range of machines that include desktop-class computers. I have come across anti-virus solutions that bring the “Firewall” feature, which replaces the Windows Firewall defense system. Disable the Anti-virus for a couple of minutes, and try to connect to the network to check, whether security solution is preventing the Discord program from joining the server.
I have installed a third-party security solution, and you can turn it off for a couple of minutes, but I don’t recommend it to remain in that state for a more extended period. Windows PC is infected by malware, and other threats, so do not let the hidden threats spread any further.
Do not overlook Windows Defender or system defense mechanism because it plays a significant role in keeping unsecured connections or automated connections from happening in the first place.
The network problem occurs when your ISP is no good, and it is a common problem in the Third World. Most of the ISP’s have a more robust infrastructure to sustain bandwidth, but I have noticed that low-cost ISP do not improve the technology, and we end up having imbalance performance.
Awaiting Endpoint Discord problem should not consume more than 10 minutes to resolve, but I do recommend the registered users to check the status of the servers. I always check the Discords server status, which explains in-depth information on the current positioning of the servers. Let us know which solution worked for you in the comment section below.
